Pedals to Powder premieres on YouTube this July

If you love a good Kiwi adventure story, mark 2 July in your calendar.

After picking up an award and filling seats at film festivals around New Zealand and overseas, Pedals to Powder is finally getting its public release on YouTube. The documentary follows two Kiwi women who set themselves a pretty wild challenge: cycle to every ski field in New Zealand in the middle of winter, carrying all their own gear, before climbing into the mountains to ski.

It already sounds ambitious on paper, but anyone who's spent time in the New Zealand backcountry knows that's only half the story. Long days in the saddle, freezing mornings, unpredictable weather, steep climbs and plenty of type two fun all become part of the journey. Along the way, they visit some of the country's iconic club ski fields and meet the people who make these uniquely Kiwi places what they are.

The film has already earned plenty of recognition, screening at the New Zealand Mountain Film Festival and The Big Bike Film Night, winning Best Sports Documentary at the New Zealand Indie Film Festival, and receiving a nomination at Denmark's Doc Only Film Festival.

As proud supporters of adventures that push boundaries and inspire others to get outside, we are stoked to have supported Pedals to Powder. It's a great reminder that great adventure doesn't have to happen on the other side of the world. Sometimes the best stories are found right here, in our own backyard.

The film premieres on YouTube at 8 pm NZT on Thursday 2 July. If you're into skiing, bikepacking, or simply love seeing ordinary people take on extraordinary challenges, it's well worth watching. Put the kettle on, settle in, and enjoy the ride.
