Fenix is proud to announce its partnership with Daniel Jones, one of New Zealand’s leading ultrarunners and a rising force on the global stage. Known for racing into the night on some of the world’s toughest trails, Dan is the perfect athlete to put Fenix lighting to the ultimate test. For a runner who lives on the edge of daylight and endurance, this partnership is about more than just performance - it’s about pushing boundaries with the right tools by your side.
From burnout to breakthrough
Dan’s running story began in Whakatāne, New Zealand, inspired by his father, a Coast-to-Coast champion. After racing through high school and competing in the US collegiate system, he hit a wall—burnt out and disconnected from the joy of running. Returning home reignited his passion, first through multisport and marathons, then ultimately through ultrarunning. With standout results like a 2:16:15 marathon PB, a fourth place at Western States, and racing across the Alps and China, Dan has proven he belongs among the sport’s elite.
A perfect match
Fenix stands for lighting gear that rises to the challenge, no matter the conditions, no matter the hour. Since 2001, the brand has been engineering high-performance flashlights, headlamps, and bike lights trusted by adventurers, rescue teams, tactical professionals, and endurance athletes in over 100 countries. Every Fenix light is built to perform under pressure with precision engineering, rugged design, and reliable power when it matters most.
For Dan, that makes the partnership a natural fit. Whether it’s navigating ridgelines at night or pushing through the final miles of a 100-miler, he knows his light won’t let him down.
As Dan puts it:
“Knowing I’ve got a light I can rely on gives me the confidence to push harder and go further. And that is exactly what I need out there.”
Lighting the long run
Together, Fenix and Dan share a mindset: resilience, precision, and the drive to keep going when others stop. His story is still unfolding, and with every race, every climb, and every finish line, Fenix will be there to light the way.
